AIF's Fallow Festival Fund returns for 2026

At the beginning of February, we took part in a panel at the AIF Congress alongside Boomtown Festival’s Toby Gwazdacz, where we discussed the importance of organisers taking control of their payment management.

But one figure stood out during the event: over 200 festivals have disappeared since 2020.

With unprecedented financial pressures, running a festival every year can be an extremely tall order, which is why the AIF has relaunched its Fallow Festival Fund initiative for 2026 – following a successful first edition last year.

The programme provides a safety net for independent festivals navigating a fallow year; a strategic pause that allows organisers to regroup and return stronger the following season.
