Well, half the office this morning was glued to the live blogcast from Steve Jobs' keynote for the launch of the new iPhone. It did deliver in more ways than not. Yes, it still does not make coffee and it still has limited memory. But it fixes almost all other flaws of the current iPhone and opens up a whole new world of possiblities with third party applications. I bought my iPhone last November and was rather skeptical that I would like the touch interface, the slow 2.5G speed and the half functioning e-mail/calendar/contacts. However, after playing with it for less than 2 hours I was addicted. My family and friends have since then persistently complained that I spend more time staring at the iPhone than talking to them. Pretty pathetic.. but I think it will pale in comparison to what lies ahead for me with this new toy. It will take the iPhone addiction to a whole new level with fast internet, full MS exchange connect and unlimited new games and applications. That really just means one thing, I formally and fondly bid farewell to my social life on July 11...

When Segways first came out, they were rather hyped up and really did not live up to the promise. I mean trying to ride around in a helmet using a gyroscope is not exactly everyone's dream. But the X2 for golf from
Segway is finally a product that is very lovable. Imagine the thrill of segwaying your way through 18 holes in record time. The X2 has a place for a golf set and your favorite beverage. It is eco-friendly and with a top speed of 12.5 mph it's nicely powered. The best part of this segway is the special tires which make it possible to motor over the turf and not have to stick to the cart path. If eight thousand dollars sounds like a lot for a better way to "walk" through a golf course, then you may want tro try renting one. Many of the golf courses are offering the X2 as an alternative to the regular cart rental!

I remember being all of 10 years old and watching Star Wars from the first row. The movie had this funny robot which could talk, walk and transmit holographic videos of princess Leia. A little friend that every 10 year boy was itching to have! Well a few short years later, it is now available as a full blown cd/dvd/ipod/dlp projection gizmo that can be controlled with a remote stored in R2D2's brain stem. This awsome contraption from
Hammacher Schlemmer can also move around the house and has smart sensors that keep it from falling down the stairs. It's not cheap but then what's a few grand for true love...
