Many SATC fans recognize this brownstone stoop as the entry way into the apartment of ultimate N.Y. single girl, Carrie Bradshaw. I was invited to attend the premiere of the new movie this past Tuesday here in Phoenix. Wanting to be kind, I have since somehow managed to reign myself in and keep the decor gushing to myself. But now that the movie has opened worldwide, let the games begin! The costume design and sets of the film had received tremendous hype and neither disappointed. Carrie and Big finally got engaged after 10 years and moved into a penthouse apartment that is absolutely breathtaking. The wedding is set to take place in the New York public library. A location perfect for our literary heroine. Alas, there is a glitch and the wedding does not take place. Carrie moves back into her old brownstone and finally gives up the folding table "desk" that she has used to write numerous columns and three best sellers on. We also wanted to share her bedroom (tagged with apartmenttherapychicago), since we think the color combination is unique and really works well in the space. More photos below. Degerkas says: "Not able to afford a new bedroom set, some craigslist/flea market finds became a super cool bedroom set with just the help of some paint and matching hardware. We bought the middle [tile] from a local carpenter/artist and had him make two more because we liked it so much." The telephone chair is a "...$5 Flea market find, all I had to do was re-foam and recover the seat." We're impressed with her thrifting skills and we think she brought together some great budget finds into a space that really reflects her style and personality. Thanks, Degerkas! See less

Look closely... it might surprise you to know that the fireplace is made up of over 2000 dominos! (Ha! I won't be playing dominos any time soon.) I added life to my boring white space by cutting whimsical shapes out of plywood, and giving them a fresh coat of paint. I backed my shelves with a vintage print wallpaper, and covered the wall with a warm-colored floral fabric. I love this room because once you enter you just don't want to leave!
